Meeting Minutes
The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC) held a meeting on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Mocha Coffeehouse in Sandy Hook, CT.
Members Present: Debbie Aurelia, Joseph Grasso, Jennifer Johnston, Robert Kaiser, Donna Mangiafico
Members Absent: Martin Blanco, Marina Moscovici, Linda Watson
Auxiliary Members Present: Jennifer Rogers
Newtown Cultural Arts Committee members held a meeting to plan for the Labor Day Parade.
Debbie Aurelia collected T-Shirts and Donna Mangiafico will send them out to be silk screened with the NCAC Logo on front and Vibrant Arts for a Healthy Community on the back. Donna Mangiafico will also ask for a price on banners.
Rob Kaiser is making arrangements for a truck.
The committee will print the logo with website address on stickers which will be placed on crayon boxes and handed out at the parade. Debbie Aurelia will place an order for 1000 pieces which will cost approximately $325.
Joe Grasso will provide a music CD to be played on the parade route.
Members will bring assigned supplies to make posters to the August 28th meeting. The posters will promote the NCAC, the NCAC website, and advertise the upcoming variety show.
Members discussed offering an art contest. The rules and deadline of the contest will be posted on the NCAC website before the parade.
Members are encouraged to save the following dates: Sunday evening, August 31st to put the float together and the day of the parade, Monday, September 1st to march.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 7:00 PM in the Old Courtroom at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, Newtown, CT.
